Participation of ICAR-CISH in National Conclave on Natural Farming and Farmer-Scientist Interaction Organized

ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow organized an interaction programme of more than 230 farmers of Malihabad and Maal area ensuring their virtual/on-line participation in the “National Conclave on Natural Farming organized at Anand, Gujarat.

Farmers were extremely inspired by the elaboration of Honorable Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Dev Vratji regarding preparation of various organic inputs like Jeevamrit, ghan jheevamrit, beejamrit, etc and their role in maintaining soil organic carbon and overall health. Farmers were also inspired by the speech of Hon’ble Prime Minister giving a call for natural farming to solve the problems of increasing use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture.

On the occasion, Dr Neelima Garg, Director of the institute welcomed Dr R. K. Pathak, ex Director, ICAR-CISH who exhorted the farming community regarding importance of cosmic farming, organic inputs and bio-enhancers in natural farming. The special guest Mr Radhshyam Dixit, the coordinator from UP Gau Sewa Aayog also discussed with farmers various govt schemes to conserve and protect cow and promote cow based farming. He also elaborated various efforts made by Gau Seva Aayog for marketing of cow based products to help farmers. The programme was conducted by Dr Sushil Kumar Shukla, Principal Scientist (Horticulture). After the presentation by Hon’ble Prime Minister a farmer-scientist interaction was also organized. More than 230 farmers including staff of the institute participated in the programme.
